ABA was founded in 1988. Its mission is to prepare children, youth and adults to understand, respect and collaborate to build a better world. ABA's 28 years of diverse community service have made it known as much more than an English and Portuguese language teaching organization: a Global Education Center.

Portuguese class

As a Brazil-US Binational Center, non-profit institution, ABA promotes cultural and educational exchange through English courses for adults, teens, and children and holds cultural events, courses and seminars for professionals, offers scholarship programs, instruction in Portuguese as a second Language, translation services and international testing, such as the TOEFL and GRE exams. ABA is also a strong partner of the U.S. State Department and participates in programs such as the Youth Ambassadors, English Access Microscholarship Program, Public School Teachers Development Program and Opportunity Program.

Located in Recife, capital of the state of Pernambuco, ABA has two units in the city: Aflitos and the Boa Viagem, with a total number of more than 4,000 students and 77 teachers. Both units offer state of the art facilities, an exclusive library, Wi-Fi internet and a welcoming staff of teachers and administrators. ABA has been listed as one of best 100 companies to work in Brazil for the past 7 years and as one of the best companies in Latin America (Great Place to Work Institute).
